The Shangcheng District Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau is breathing new life into Dajing Alley with their One-Street-One-Plan initiative, which supports the development of street-side businesses. Thanks to the initiative, Hu Qing Yu Tang, a century-old TCM store, has tapped into a new market by setting up a health-themed alfresco café right in front of its premises. “The city’s new sidewalk business policy is a game-changer,” says a representative from the Law Enforcement Bureau. “We’ve streamlined the approval process, making it easier than ever for businesses to create unique outdoor spaces. This is good for the local economy. It also creates a more vibrant and inviting atmosphere for the neighborhood.
