The Qiandao Lake Creative Life Week 2024 kicked off on October 24 at Xiushui Square in Chun’an. This vibrant festival offers a mix of mouthwatering street food, fascinating exhibitions, and engaging cultural experiences.

Themed “Celebrating Culture and Life,” the festival runs until October 28 and features six key elements: opera performances, a cultural and creative product exhibition, a food fair, an intangible cultural heritage exhibition, must-visit trendy spots, and special events and games.

The cultural and creative product exhibition, spanning over 2,000 square meters, showcases a diverse range of cultural and creative items. From Song Dynasty-inspired designs to local products from the Xin’an River Basin and popular giant panda-inspired merchandise, there’s something for everyone. Visitors can explore products from 31 counties and districts across Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Sichuan, and Shanghai, alongside international offerings from Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Latin America, and other countries and regions.

Don’t miss the food fair at the Food Square, where over 20 food stalls and 10 trendy food trucks offer a delectable and authentic selection of specialties from the Xin’an River Basin. From Zhongzhou Town’s fermented tofu to Zitong Town’s corn flour cake, Fenkou Town’s rice porridge, and Wuyuan County and Jingzhou City’s glutinous rice cakes, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

To immerse visitors in the vibrant local culture and enrich citizens’ life, the organizer has planned ten large-scale cultural activities. Highlights include a youth art exhibition, a group wedding ceremony, a traditional Chinese fashion show, and the Qiandao Lake Cultural Parade. Among them, the cultural parade, featuring 18 teams and nearly 1,000 performers, will bring the shores of Qiandao Lake to life with a vibrant showcase of traditional cultural performances from Zhejiang and Anhui.

To further enhance the visitor experience, six interactive installations have been set up. Visitors can capture moments with Qiandao Lake’s beloved mascot Hubaobao, strike a pose at a scenic lakeside photo spot, or explore themed installations showcasing its landscapes, sports, giant panda facilities, and bamboo crafts.
