The first store, the first show, the first-released products ever in China and even around the world... The so-called “First (Debut) Economy” is making a significant stride in Hangzhou. This Friday, as the 2025 Zhejiang New Shopping Season kicked off at Hubin Pedestrian Street, a great “package” from the authorities of Zhejiang Province and Shangcheng District was announced to stimulate consumption. It was unveiled along with a grand initiative for public funding. The event also recruited the “Debut Economy” experience officers and offered a series of products first seen in Zhejiang. The province is believed to still have a great potential.
On the Pedestrian Street there will be three exhibitions covering over 80 brands for an interactive user experiences with the first-time launch of goods, cultural services, and innovative products. The exhibitions will remain open until April 1.
Some well-known brands, like Yulong, Temark, Fudi International, and Huawei Smart Home, presented events like the first-time exhibition of Yulong U7, Fudi’s first AI art exhibition, and the launch of co-branded products by Temark and Zhu Bingren’s Copper Studio. They are particularly for young consumers.
The “Future Living Space”, with a focus on the creation of a scenario-based, immersive, and interactive user experience center, is an exhibition of new consuming scenarios and services, such as smart glasses, smart home appliances, stylish home furnishings, cycling sports, cosmetics, etc. It also launches activities for a hands-on experience on intelligent cooking, AI smart glasses, sweeping robot (nationwide debut), and perfume blending.
The “Spring New Arrivals Bazaar” featured not only “made-in-Zhejiang” goods, like the beer from Qiandao Lake, home appliances from Cixi, and glasses from Ouhai, but also curated cosmetics and apparel brands. Additionally, it brought imported goods such as Japanese porcelain, Italian bags, and Nepalese wool felts, as well as national-recognized brands like Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society, Paradise Umbrella, Jingshan Academy, and Wuyue Renjia.
ICBC and Wasu Media also provided a gift to the public, like the former’s vouchers with a face value of RMB 200,000 yuan .
